July Patch Notes (07/14/2026): Battles Scale Up, Favorites Get Fixed

July 14, 2026 · Commander Royale Team

It's been a busy stretch behind the scenes. Here's what changed this patch.

Battles now scale from 2 to 10 players

Battle recording used to be locked to exactly 4 participants, no matter what actually happened at your table. That cap is gone.

  • The Add Battle form on the Map page now starts with 4 participant rows by default, but you can add participants up to 10 or remove them down to 2 right in the form.
  • Hosts can change that starting default per game: open Edit Game Settings from your game screen and set Players per Battle (say, 5) so future battles in that game open with the right number of rows automatically.
  • Battle History still shows the familiar 1st-3rd/4th podium columns you're used to — but click any battle row and the detail view now lists every participant and placement, all the way up to 10th.

Fixed: switching your favorite commander back could fail

If you set Commander A as your favorite on the Command Tower, switched to Commander B, and then tried to switch back to Commander A, you'd sometimes hit a database error and the change wouldn't stick. That race condition is fixed — favorites can now be swapped back and forth freely.
